its own borders. Throughout the 1990s, Ecuador made
numerous reforms in an effort to make its economy more
competitive. These modernization and market-oriented
structural reforms continue today and are showing promise.

Trade Preference Act (04-Apr-02)
Bush
is calling for passage of the Andean Trade Preferences
Act, a bill which expired last year, granting special
trade privileges to Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Bolivia.
